Testing

Delta's assembly is underpinned by a robust testing procedure which is undertaken on 100% of the cylinders assembled and incorporates:

  • Maximum working pressure
  • Dimensional verification of the stroke
  • Dimensional verification of the closed centres

For rod cylinders a drift test is also performed, and in the case of double-acting telescopic cylinders an oil bypass test is performed on both extension and retraction.

Clean Room

Delta has a temperature and contaminant controlled clean room for assembly and testing of critical application cylinders.

Customer Specific Testing

Delta can perform additional testing to meet customer's requirements in line with the relevant Australian or international standards. These tests are usually performed for New Product Introductions (NPIs) or where the cylinder is going to deployed in a critical application such as a crane. These tests may include:

  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) dimensional verification checks
  • Ultrasonic testing (UT) of welds and steel assemblies
  • Dye penetrant testing of welds
  • Paint quality testing
