John White, Managing Director / CEO
John founded Delta Hydraulics in 1975 and has led the company's innovation, engineering and sales since its inception and grown the company into an international operation with 17,000 m2 of advanced manufacturing plants on two continents with over 2,000 customers in 30 countries.
John, a self-taught engineer, is an innovator with numerous hydraulic innovation credits to his name including the development of unitary manufacture of telescopic stages as well as a range of engineered product innovations in both telescopic and rod cylinders. He applies his innovation and engineering precision to his other business interests and his hobby of high performance motorsport.
John is also the Managing Director of White Hot Industries, owner of White Sands Estate, Iron House Brewery, Iron House Distillery and IronHouse Vineyard on Tasmania's east coast and Managing Director of White Hot Motorsport and White Hot Marine.
Between 1985 and 2012 John served as a Director of the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, including three years as President. Between 2011 and 2013 John was a Director of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of its Workplace Relations Committee.
John enjoys ocean fishing and motorsport and is a five-time winner of Targa Tasmania one of the world's most prestigious tarmac rallies.
Robert Mason, Production and Human Resources Administrator
Robert commenced with Delta Hydraulics in December 1992 and for 26 years was Delta's Chief Design and Drafting Engineer. In 2019 Robert was appointed Chief Production Officer and is responsible for Delta's 100 production employees and the quality and timely production of Delta's range of OEM hydraulic cylinders, customised hydraulic cylinders and related parts.
Robert also provides redundancy in the Sales/Quoting area and manages Delta's information technology infrastructure. Robert is also responsible for Human Resources Management for Delta.
Robert began his career with the Australian Department of Defence and was involved in the design of tooling, jigs, fixtures, gauging and machine design associated with the production of small firearms. He then joined the Royal Australian Airforce and managed the drawing office of the Publications division.
Robert is a qualified Fitter & Turner and holds an Associate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and a Diploma in Competitive Systems and Practices (Lean Manufacturing).
Simon Morris, Chief Design and Drafting Engineer
Simon was appointed Chef Design and Drafting Engineer in February 2019.
Simon joined Delta in 2003 leaving in 2009 to take a drafting position at RGE, specialists in the manufacture and installation of fibreglass reinforced plastic products. Between 2012 and 2014 Simon undertook contracting drafting for the food processing sector in North West Tasmania including global companies such as Simplot.
Rejoining Delta in 2014 Simon is an experienced design and drafting engineer for hydraulic single rod cylinders as well as telescopic cylinders. Simon has completed hundreds of hydraulic cylinder designs which have been manufactured and deployed in over 30 countries in a diverse range of applications such as mining, transport, materials handling, agriculture, forestry, shipbuilding, food processing as well as oil and gas exploration.
Simon holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, an Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and a Diploma in Civil Engineering.
